Well it’s a been a fun ride with SOI the last six months or so. First there was busking in the summer. Five of us spent a month tootling around France in an old blue Leyland Daf van, which was also our home much of the time. The busking went well and we sold out of our CDs, covered our costs and had a nice holiday. Then we went to Cyprus in September for a mini-tour with our now good friend Lefteris (check his music at http://www.myspace.com/jkristemasterofdisguise). We were treated wonderfully by audiences and our hosts alike and made some great connections. So much so that we were invited back to rock the joint on New Years Eve 2010 and do some more gigs, all of which was a great success. For more info, photos and videos go to the School Of Imagination myspace page.
My album has been receiving some encouraging feedback and a few nice reviews (more on that soon). Since finishing it, I’ve been delving more and more into the great treasure trove of traditional English music, an interest compounded by a summer school with Chris Wood last year. I’ve also begun writing some new material and am hoping to be back in the studio and back on stage before too long.
